The Orthodox Christian Youth Association of Kenya (OCYAK) is overjoyed to celebrate a historic and transformative moment in youth ministry. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible team from New Horizons Foundation(Noi Orizonturi), who traveled all the way from Romania to join us in Kenya for the Syndesmos Day Celebrations and, most importantly, the IMPACT-ing East Africa Training on Leadership.

A Mission of Love and Transformation

This landmark training was made possible through the dedication and commitment of a wonderful delegation that included Dana Bates, the Multi-Country Youth Missionary from Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) (OCMC), as well as Maria, Papadhia Lori, Alina, and Nico. Their unwavering support and expertise have laid the foundation for a movement that will shape the future of Orthodox youth leadership in Africa.

The impact of their sacrifice and dedication will be felt for generations to come. Thanks to their efforts, we are now preparing to launch IMPACT Clubs across Africa! This marks a historic turning point, equipping young Orthodox Christians with the leadership skills and spiritual grounding necessary to lead transformative change within their communities.

We especially recognize Dana Bates and the Orthodox Christian Mission Center for their instrumental role in facilitating this monumental engagement. Their support has ensured the successful launch of the IMPACT project, a successful training session, and a promising future for Orthodox youth leadership in East Africa. Without their unwavering commitment, this dream would not have become a reality.

The Future of Youth Ministry in Africa

As we reflect on this incredible achievement, we are reminded of the powerful words of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios Tillyrides of Kenya (Orthodox Church of Kenya):
“The young people are the only ones who can heal the wounds that our Church currently has, and they are the only ones who can unite the Church.”

This is the time, and we are the people! It is upon us to nurture and empower the next generation of Orthodox Christian leaders who will guide the Church into a future filled with faith, unity, and renewal.
