Joshua Kimani Represents the Youth at UN Civil Society Pre-Conference

On the 30th April 2024, Joshua Kimani, the General Secretary of the Youth in Kenya, participated in the United Nations Civil Society Pre-Conference in support of the Summit of the Future. Held in Nairobi, this high-profile event was a crucial preparatory meeting for the upcoming United Nations Civil Societies Conference.

- UNIS Director Sandra Macharia emphasized the Common Agenda, which outlines 12 critical commitments essential for future global cooperation. She also discussed the importance of the Pact of the Future and the associated 11 policy briefs, calling for radical collaboration among nations.
- Carole Osero-Ageng’o, Co-Chair of the Conference, highlighted the need for effective social governance in the global south and the significance of the Pact of the Future in shaping inclusive and impactful policies.
- Florence Syevuo, CEO of SDG Forum Kenya, reiterated the 12 commitments made at UN75, stressing the principle of leaving no one behind and the need for preparedness.
