Celebrating a Milestone: Hundreds Join OCYAK, the Kenyan Orthodox Youth Movement

We are thrilled to announce a momentous occasion in the life of our community! Recently, the only Orthodox Church in Tana River County witnessed a remarkable influx of new members, with more than 800 faithful’s embracing Holy Orthodoxy, primarily transitioning from Roman Catholicism. Among this inspiring surge, a significant majority comprises young people, numbering in the hundreds.
This extraordinary event marks a profound testament to the enduring appeal and vitality of our faith, particularly among the youth. Their enthusiastic embrace of Orthodox Christianity reflects a deep resonance with its teachings, traditions, and values.
As we welcome these new members into the fold of OCYAK, the National Youth Movement of Kenyan Orthodox Youth, we are filled with gratitude and excitement for the journey ahead. Together, we will continue to foster a vibrant community where young people can grow in their faith, engage in meaningful dialogue, and contribute to the flourishing of our Orthodox tradition.
These are indeed remarkable times, and we, the people of OCYAK, stand united in joy, faith, and purpose. Let us celebrate this milestone and look forward to the boundless opportunities that lie ahead.
